Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to sleep in a little. At least, I would have if Alex hadn’t had other ideas. The alarm went off at 6:20 for Eric to get up. I, as usual, took the opportunity to hit the bathroom before he did. While I was in there, I thought I heard what might have been knocking. When I came out, I stopped near Alex’s room to listen for movement. Nothing. Just as I decided to go back to bed, Alex knocked on his door, which is now his way of asking to be let out. He started doing that at Mom & Dad’s (at least before he discovered he could let himself out!). Anyway, I opened up the door and Alex came out. We went back to the bedroom and crawled into bed. Eric got up to shower. Alex laid with me for about 20 minutes, then wandered off. I heard him go into the bathroom, so I didn’t worry about it and tried to go back to sleep. About 10 minutes later, I heard Eric come back into the room. He asked to turn the light on. I covered my head and said OK. A minute later I heard Alex come up behind me and then he said, “Wake up, Mama”. Eric and I started laughing. Who can resist a two year old telling you to wake-up? Even if it is an hour before you were hoping to get up.
