Today Alex also let me sleep in. But in exchange for that, I think he took great joy in scaring the crap out of me! I very slowly woke up, wondering why my arm felt so cold. I opened my eyes and there was Alex, standing mere inches from my face. I gasped and Alex grinned. The reason my arm was cold was because Alex was standing there poking me with his icy little fingers.
Today was the get-together at my parents house with my mom’s side of the family. It was chaotic, as all family gatherings seem to be, but fun. Alex was having a rough time just after Great Grandma and Grandpa arrived, but after a short walk, he calmed down and was pretty good the rest of the time. I think at one point he may have been hungry but didn’t understand or realize that he could tell us that. But before I fed him he was cranky, and afterward he was fine. We though he was going to take an early nap and he ended up staying up until 2:30 after all.
That night we decided to take the dog for a walk. Mom and I had walked him the day before, with Alex. It ended up with Mom holding onto the cord part of the retractable leash while Alex held the handle. Not the easiest way to walk, but Alex was as happy as a clam. Unfortunately, the dog was lagging behind at one point, so Mom is trying to drag him forward while Alex walks in front, swinging the handle of the leash by his side. It was so cute. So this time we put two leashes on the dog. One for Dad to control the dog with, the second for Alex to hold. So Alex helped walk the dog again.
